PREP-GRADE 8 IEA OUTCOME BASED CURRICULUM

Our Prep to Grade 8 Outcome Based Curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation for your child's education. We focus on a holistic approach that nurtures their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development. Paving the Path to Excellence

In each curriculum area the student learning outcomes are arranged around five achievement levels for students from Prep to Grade 8. The levels do not correlate with any grade but are sequential. Students starting school would normally be working towards outcomes stated for Level 1 and students in Grade 8 would be working around level 5

Our achievement levels allow for individualized development, recognizing that every child is unique and learns at their own pace. By aligning learning outcomes with specific levels, we can tailor instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of each student. This personalized approach ensures that your child receives the appropriate challenges and opportunities for growth, fostering confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

Literacy Foundations

At KIS, we place a significant focus on ensuring all students receive the learning opportunities and support necessary to enable them to achieve expected literacy benchmarks by the end of Grade 6. This is achieved through implementation of a balanced approach to literacy instruction and through adopting an evidence-based developmental learning and intervention method that focuses on targeted teaching informed by developmental assessment.
